ACTNews, JAKARTA – Entering the second day of Ramadan, Humanity Food Truck 2.0 continued to provide iftar meals for the people of Jakarta. On Tuesday (5/7), the mobile kitchen parked at Basuki Field on Jalan Kemang Utar 9, South Jakarta.
The Humanity Food Truck 2.0 supported by Global Zakat – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) cooked a thousand of iftar packages. Fikri Arga Permana (34) who cooked in the Humanity Food Truck 2.0 said that all of the iftar packages were distributed to poor families in Kemang.
Permana added that the iftar meals that they cook contain the much-needed nutrients. To strengthen the body after fasting for more than 12 hours, Permana and his team cooked rice, chicken, fried noodles and vegetables. Until the last day of Ramadan, the team will cook various dishes each day.
“Although we will cook various dishes, there will always be vegetables as a part of the iftar meal so that the beneficiaries can get accustomed to eating vegetables during iftar,” added Permana.
The cooking process began at 8 in the morning. With the assistance of seven volunteers drom Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia, the three chefs in the Humanity Food Truck usually finish packing the iftar packages at 3 p.m. “The cooking process begins early in the morning, and the ingredients are prepared the night before. All ingredients are bought in markets near the distribution location to guarantee their freshness,” added Permana.
Until the end of Ramadan, Humanity Food Truck will visit places around Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, as well as places along the homecoming route in Java. The nutritious meal packages will be served every day for the beneficiaries.
